Psychoeducational Evaluation
EdPsych East Bay offers comprehensive psychoeducational and diagnostic evaluations (both privately funded, or district funded Independent Educational Evaluations) for students from infancy through adulthood. Depending on the nature of the presenting problem and the age of the child/ student, an assessment may include measures that evaluate:
- Academic achievement in reading, mathematics, and written expression
- Adaptive functioning
- Behavior
- Cognitive processes
- Developmental level
- Intellectual functioning
- Neuropsychological functioning, including executive functioning
- Social-emotional/ mental health functioning
In addition to comprehensive assessment, an evaluation includes a review of all pertinent background information, parent, teacher, and student interviews, and school observation.
The results of evaluation are presented in a comprehensive written report which includes a review and analysis of all assessment data; a review of your child’s eligibility for special education in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA); all relevant diagnoses; and recommendations for the parents and the school to support your child’s cognitive, academic, adaptive, and social-emotional development. Attendance at an IEP meeting to review the results of the evaluation with the school team is available upon request.
